The vineyard of Catleya is located in Corcova, a small village located in the Oltenia region of Romania. Corcova has a rich history. It was during the Belle Époque period in Paris that Prince Antoine Bibesco, Marcel Proust and their friends were tasting the Corcova wines, while evoking the pear flowers of this mythical place. However the aura of Corcova is present in his writings and Bibesco was the inspiration of one of the main characters in the novel In search of the lost time. In Marcel Proust’s renowned masterpiece, the Catleya orchid is a symbol of love. Since 2007, four French wine enthusiasts fell in love with Corcova and its Proustian aura and chose this symbol to represent the vineyard replanted on the historic site of Bibesco’s domain, and Catleya was born. The following grape varieties are planted at Catleya: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Fetească Neagra, Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă. Catleya Winery can only be visited by appointment confirmed in advance at: • Laurent Pfeffer +40 741 281 611 • Anne-Cécile Roussel +40 753 013 917 • contact@catleyawines.com The winery has an online shop where you can purchase wines with delivery in Romania.

Corcova's winemaking has a long history, that most certainly dates back to the Dacian period. But the first written reference to viticulture is an act dated the 1st July, 1594, signed by Michael the Brave himself. The vineyard became more famous in the late nineteenth century when its owners were the renowned Bibescu family. Prince Anton Bibescu, well-known in Parisian circles and close friend of Marcel Proust, put Corcova on the map by constructing new cellars and adopting modern winemaking techniques. The young French agronomist, Aristoteles Sauget, planted noble grapes brought from France and, in the Bordeaux style, created the excellent blend "Corcovin", famous in its' time. Meanwhile, the natural beauty of the region made Corcova a favoured holiday destination for Anton and Martha Bibescu and their friends, which included notable talents such as Mihail Sebastian, Ion Pillat and Ion Minulescu. Corcova Roy & Damboviceanu Winery was founded in 2005, at which time only 18 hectares of the 470 hectares of vines still survived and the original cellars built by Prince Anton Bibescu were in a state of ruin. From 2005 until the present day, 60 hectares have been replanted with French and native noble varieties and the cellars have been completely renovated and modernised with modern machinery and equipment with the support of European Funds for Agriculture and Rural Development. Located in Mehedinti in southwest Romania, the Corcova vineyard produces wines that have the so-called "gout du terroir", which embodies the rich environment and characteristics of the vineyard. The temperate continental climate with Mediterranean influences - hot, dry summers, mild winters -, combined with soils rich in minerals, give extremely favourable conditions for Corcova's noble vines. The varieties cultivated are the same that thrived during the Bibescu period, plus the new Syrah. Plantings were made from north to south in order to optimise exposure to the sun's warmth and light. Picking and grape selection at the sorting table are all done by hand. After harvesting, the delicate and lengthy process of transforming grape must into wine follows multiple stages, culminating with maturation in oak barrels. The integrity of the grapes is carefully respected throughout their journey from the vineyard to the final product. So remember, when you open a bottle of Corcova: an excellent wine is a world in itself. Nature, history, and, above all, people. Viticola Corcova Company is a beautiful story, a discussion between friends turned into a successful reality. Owned by Michel Roy and Șerban Dâmboviceanu, the business was founded in 2005, when, of the 470 hectares of vines owned by the Corcova IAS, only 18 hectares remained, and the wineries, built by Prince Anton Bibescu at the beginning of the 20th century, were in ruins. Now the Corcova Roy & Dâmboviceanu vineyard includes 70 hectares on which the traditional varieties of the place, existing even at the time of the Bibești estate, included in the authorized DOC Mehedinți-Corcova varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as two new varieties, Syrah and Viognier. Also, during 2008-2009, the wineries were completely renovated and modernized, equipped with modern machines and equipment that facilitate processing. The winery is open for visits from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and on weekends only for groups of at least 10 people (with prior reservation).

Crama DeMatei means a unique terroir that stretches over 80 hectares around the two hills, Tegăneanu and Zorilor, on which grows a vine that is over 40 years old. It's a terroir that demands respect, craftsmanship and painstakingness to express itself through large wines with very good ageing potential, which has been proven by every edition of Prince Matthew wine since 1998. Then it means the skillful hand of the man who cares for and preserves the vine and who knows how to choose and capitalize on each bunch. I understood, however, that in order to bring out the best in our terroir, tradition must go hand in hand with technology for greater precision in the winemaking process. It is from this fine balance between man, nature and technology that the wines of the Prince Matei Domains are born and grown. Number de hectars: 100 hectares Wine bottled annualy: 200.000 litri Types of grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fetească Neagră, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală. În 2021 au fost plantate soiuri noi, printre care Tămâioasă Românească, Cabernet Franc și Petit Verdot. Wine Brands: Prince Matei, Petit Matei, Domeniile Prince Matei, Domeniile Prince Matei Bistrot, Nasty. Prince Matei Prince Matei, a terroir wine, has its roots on the austere terraces of two hills: Tegăneanu and Zorilor. Over 40 years old vineyards, clay, gravel, and limestone create the complex personality, intensity, and finesse of this wine. Its history of over 20 years allows us to confidently appreciate its evolution over time. Even if the wine can be enjoyed after simple aeration in the glass, we recommend decantation of 20-30 minutes for a superior experience. Petit Matei Petit Matei, like the well-known Prince Matei, is also the product of the exceptional terroir from the Zorilor and Tegăneanu hills. Seductive from its first years, it is a supple and velvety wine, with fresh, intense, and juicy fruit aromas. Sensational even from the first moments after opening, you can aerate it in a decanter for 20-30 minutes for a superior experience Domeniile Prince Matei The Prince Matei Domains wine range represents a new generation of wines from Dealu Mare, one of the most celebrated Romanian wine regions. Modern and elegant, each wine can be appreciated alone or paired with food for a gastronomic experience. Feteasca Neagra grapes are part of each blend, even vinified in white! Domeniile Prince Matei Bistrot There are not many more graceful moments than those spent at the restaurant, when delicious dishes, along with the right wine, offer experiences that nourish the body and the soul. Nasty The terroir and craftsmanship of Dealu Mare meet the strong personality of a winner, Ilie Năstase. The result is an expressive wine for the champions.

Located in the village of Vadu Săpat, on the border between Prahova and Buzău counties, Crama de Piatră awaits you with an accommodation unit with 11 rooms, a restaurant, as well as its signature wines. The place where the winery is located has existed for more than 100 years. The winery was built over the course of three years, between 1909-1912, its completion being done by Italian craftsmen who arrived in the Dealu Mare vineyard, where they made two other wineries. During this time, Clinciu Ion arrived in the area and married a noble girl from here. At the wedding, they received 20 hectares of vines as a gift, which prompted Clinciu Ion to build a winery, using stone as material. At the entrance to the cellar you can still see today the coat of arms inscribed in stone, with the initials C. I and the year 1912. From the interwar period until 1995, the winery was managed by Cramele Prahova. After 1995, there was a 23-year period when the place was abandoned, but in 2018 building rehabilitation works began. Also in 2018 the first Crama de Piatră brand wines appeared. The vineyard area has 8 hectares, and approximately 30,000 bottles of wine bottled annually. While the cellar and the production hall were reconsolidated, the old manor house, visibly destroyed, was rebuilt offering today 11 rooms (9 double rooms and 2 apartments), with 12 cottages to be added shortly. Crama de Piatră also has a restaurant with 90 seats and a terrace. Crama de Piatră works with local farmers to ensure they always have fresh food, and in the spring and summer they produce their own vegetables in their own greenhouse. Available activities: winery tours with wine tasting made by Crama de Piatră but also other wineries in the area, walks on the hill and among the vineyards, walks with all-terrain vehicles, horse and cart rides (with external collaborators), campfire. Other facilities: • Event and conference room + teambuildings can be organized • location child friendly • there is also a pet friendly room

Ferdi Winery – a passion that transcends craft and turns into art. This is how this winery was born, which, although relatively young, has deep roots in the desire to master the wine. Ferdi Winery represents the vision and concept of the owner and winemaker, Fernando Mihăilescu, who took on the challenge of creating wines in a personal style but according to the traditional method; later, his son, Paul Mihăilescu, joined him in this bold endeavor. A few years ago we planted our first vines in the Tohani area. Our priority was to achieve excellence in wine production, following the idea that quality wine starts in the vineyard. As a result, after a careful caring for the vineyard, a selection on each individual vine and manual harvest, we obtain first-class grapes. Our winemaking concept is of a long-term perspective, taking into account that red wines are aged, from 1 to 2 years, in oak barrels. Our « less is more » principle can be noticed starting with the little intervention in the winemaking process, the wines telling themselves the story of the terroir they come from, and ending with their names related to the affective memory of their maker. Ferdi Wines are special by their naturalness, consistency, acidity and elegance. Using the traditional winemaking method results in a range of balanced and refined wines. The online shop is available here.

Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892 is a combination of history, tradition, experience and passion dating back to 1892. Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892 is one of the largest Romanian producers & exporters of bottled wine, having over 60% of the annual production sold abroad. Domeniile Alexandrion Rhein 1892 production / storage facilities, 3 bottling lines, temperature controlled storage and underground cellars. The winery successfully capitalizes on the potential and diversity of the most famous wine regions in Romania, owning approximately 250 hectares of vineyards in Dealu Mare and other wine regions. Part of the vineyard is drip irrigated and certified as organic. Dealu Mare, located in the Dealurile Munteniei wine region, has deep roots in the history of the region, called "the land of red wines". The typical warm, dry microclimate and fairly long autumns favor a slow and thorough ripening of the grapes. There is a long vegetation period of 210-240 days, with a maximum humidity of 55-80%. The soil here is dotted with marine fossils, and the grapes enjoy the perfect combination of warm days and cold nights. Rhein & Cie 1892 wineries, from Azuga, a sparkling wine production unit and oenological tourism are considered the oldest location in the country where sparkling wine is produced without interruption by the traditional method. In the cellars built above ground, with double walls, black mold and natural ventilation, visitors can fully appreciate the art of producing sparkling wine.

The story begins with a visionary in Dealu Mare, between Gura Vadului and Săhăteni, where in 2000, Denis Thomas, owner and winemaker from Burgundy, set up the first organic vineyard in Romania. Denis Thomas takes over and develops a 45-hectare plantation in an area of Dealu Mare, where the terroir, similar to that of Burgundy, allows the production of Romanian wines in the French spirit. Starting in 2020, Domeniile Franco-Române belongs to a group of Romanian investors who intend to use their passion for viticulture to bring the winery's wines closer to consumers in Romania and abroad. The mission of the investors is to modernise the winery, expand storage and vinification capacity, and develop the organic plantation that brought Romania the first Ecocert certified wine in 2006. To the 45 hectares taken over from Denis Thomas, the Olariu family has added another 40 hectares of vines (a plantation known in the Gura Vadului area as "Domeniile Persu-Eminescu"). Owned before the First World War by Mihnea Olariu's great-grandparents (Alexandru Persu - agronomist engineer, former mayor of Tohani commune and Ecaterina Eminescu - granddaughter of the poet Mihai Eminescu), the Persu-Eminescu Fields have been retroceded, since 2002, to the investor's parents, Marina and Nicolae Olariu. A family story that spans several generations, a story that goes on. At Săhăteni, in Dealu Mare, we combine traditional techniques with modern technology to produce very high-quality wines. With an area of 1900 sqm, our winery has vinification and storage facilities for all types of wines: white, rose and red. As Ecocert certification also requires strict procedures in the winemaking process, we have our own analysis laboratory for each stage of production. Bottling and labelling is also automated. In this way, we ensure that all wines produced are of high-quality standards. At present, the following varieties are grown on 85 hectares at Domeniile Franco-Române: • White Grapes: Fetească Albă BIO, Tămâioasă Românească BIO, Sauvignon Blanc BIO, Chardonnay BIO, Fetească Regală, Riesling Italian BIO. • Red grapes: Pinot Noir BIO, Merlot BIO, Fetească Neagră BIO, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. The winery's portfolio includes the brands Rendez-Vous, DFR, Vigneron and Arrogance. The winery can be visited by groups of a minimum of 6 people - a maximum of 20 people, from Monday to Friday, with prior reservation at least 2 days in advance at contact@dfr-wines.ro. The starting times of the tours are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., which may differ depending on the season.

Since 1773, Tohani has attracted passionate people, who loved life and amplified its creative force. From here, from the heart of Dealu Mare, for over 200 years, wines are created. A tribute to nature, tradition and excellence. Located in the heart of the most famous viticultural area in Romania, DEALU MARE, TOHANI vineyard has been documented since 1773. Tohani Domains continues its story under the sign of royalty, starting with 1930, when Prince Nicholas of Romania, brother of King Carol II, became the owner of this vast domain. In these lands he meets the beautiful Ioana Dumitrescu Doletti, daughter of a landowner from Tohani. The prince abdicates to follow the voice of his heart and marry Ioana Doletti. Thus, the story that touched the hearts of so many Europeans has been the inspiration for decades for the wines born here. In 1948, Tohani Domains became state property and in the following years, through an association with specialists from Bordeaux, France, the winery was built and preserved to this day as a place to visit and a museum. Here is preserved the only wine cellar in the area, which houses over 100,000 bottles of vintage wines. In the 2000s, the company was privatized and went through an extensive modernization process. Construction of a new factory with state-of-the-art technology, a new infrastructure, replanting of vines on important areas. This is the beginning of the modern period, when the South African oenologist, Albertus Vand Der Merwe, is brought to the Tohani team, bringing to Tohani the air of the new world, which perfectly complements the tradition and skill of the oenologist, Marin Ion, wine doctor, nationally recognized Thus, in Tohani, the mastery and skill of the oenologist shapes what nature has been providing for hundreds of years. A unique terroir, tradition and attention to detail, are the only elements that give the possibility to create wines that define new quality standards. On these lands, recognized for the quality of red varieties, Feteasca Neagră finds the perfect conditions for development and achievement of perfection. The wine, obtained from this variety, is recognized as one of the best red wines in Romania, so Feteasca Neagră, APOGEUM, being awarded a gold medal at the most prestigious competition in the world, Concours Mondial De Bruxelles.
