Wine lovers of the wines from the Republic of Moldova have a new reason to celebrate: the sixth edition of Festivalul Vinului Moldovenesc has just been announced, and will take place on September 5-6, 2026 on Bd. Kiseleff in Bucharest.
On September 5-6, Kiseleff Boulevard in Bucharest will once again become the capital of wine, hosting the sixth edition of the Moldovan Wine Festival. The event brings to Bucharest over 40 internationally awarded wineries that will present wines, fine sparkling wines and Divin.
At this edition renowned producers, experts and wine enthusiasts meet to explore, taste and celebrate the excellence of wines from beyond Prut river, offering visitors a complete and memorable experience. Both traditional wineries from the Republic of Moldova and smaller wineries, ready to present their novelties in limited edition, will gather.
This consistent presence is not at all accidental: Romania remains the main export market for wines from beyond Prut, with deliveries worth approximately 45 million dollars in 2025 according to the records of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV) of the Republic of Moldova and the Customs Service. About 70 Moldovan wineries are present on the Romanian market. Thus, the festival is not only an opportunity for tasting, but also a celebration of the close bond between the two countries and the common passion for wine.
"Festivalul Vinului Moldovenesc ("The Moldovan Wine Festival") is a story about tradition, passion and innovation. This year, at its sixth edition, we are bringing a significant number of new producers and experiences that reflect the diversity and excellence of Moldovan wine. Moreover, because we want the public to get to know Moldovan wine better, we will have 4 daily masterclasses for which those interested can register both online and on site," says Ștefan Iamandi, Director of the National Vine and Wine Office of the Republic of Moldova.
Participants will be able to explore the world of wine through guided tasting sessions, stories and practical information about wine. As a novelty, four wine tasting and wine pairing master classes, Școala Vinului ( "the Wine School"), will be organized daily, supported by experienced sommeliers, open to the public, based on previous reservation, at a price of 150 RON.
The festival atmosphere will be complemented by live contemporary jazz concerts, supported by the bands Amphitrio and A-C Leonte, by activities dedicated to children and families, including interactive and sensory experiences. The public will have at their disposal relaxation areas, interactive spaces, a food court, as well as a series of other activities and surprises prepared during the two days.
Festivalul Vinului Moldovenesc takes place on September 5-6, 2026 from 12:00 to 22:00. Admission is free, and tasting packages can be purchased online and on site. This is also valid for tickets for Școala Vinului masterclasses. Participants can opt for packages of 5 or 10 tastings.
"This year we are putting even more emphasis on the tasting experience and the educational component of the festival. Tasting packages offer participants the opportunity to explore multiple wineries and wine varieties, and masterclasses complement the experience with information and context that helps them better understand the wines they discover. As in previous years, favorite wines will be available for purchase by the bottle directly from the producers present at the event. We want the festival experience to continue beyond the 2 days, and the wines discovered to then end up on people's tables, alongside family and friends," says Ștefan Iamandi.
The previous edition attracted over 44,000 visitors, who consumed over 11,000 bottles of wine and tasted over 25,000 glasses of wine.
