Flawless. Understanding faults in wine – Book of the month February 2024
I bought Jamie Goode's books for about 2 years now, looked through them, saw them as serious reads, so I saved them for later when I want to dig deeper into certain topics. This "later" has now arrived at the beginning of 2024.
I read the book "Flawless. Understanding faults in wine" with great curiosity related to those wine faults that I have encountered before, but especially to those that I had not heard of until now.
The book is aimed at those who are very passionate about wine and those who work in this industry. It deals in great detail with 13 faults in wine. Reading about the "oxidation" defect, for example, reminded me of a lot of things I've learned in chemistry over the years. At the same time, the book presents very useful information about the defect brought by light and the one brought by heat to the wine. Among the new things I learned from this book was smoke contamination and eucalyptus contamination, things I hadn't thought of as faults in wine before.
The book does not have a Romanian translation, it is only available in English.
