Discover the secret of Pandora Secrets Rose

With a 45-hectare vineyard located in the heart of Vrancea, in Cotești Vineyard, Crama Pandora is a young boutique winery that creates premium wines for those seeking authenticity. From fresh white wines, aromatic rosé wines, to rich and complex red wines, each label reflects a passion for quality wine.

I heard of this winery in recent years due to the medal-winning wines they had at various competitions and last year I had the opportunity to visit them at the winery.

On this occasion, I tasted their wines for the first time and I decided to look for more of their wines in stores in the future.

If in the previous article we wrote about the 2 wines from the Lifestyle range, Mon Blanc and Mon Rosé, today the time has come to tell you about another wine from the Pandora winery, namely Rosé from the Secrets range.

Secrets range reveals the magic of wine in the most surprising way – with the first scratch-off label in Romania. Each bottle hides a message and I discovered the one on the bottle of Rosé wine from the 2023 harvest.

Secrets Rosé wine is made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 20% Fetească Neagră grapes.

Tasting the wine I discovered more than the message written on the label: I discovered a fresh wine, 2023 harvest (the new harvest, 2024, will soon be launched on the market, but at this moment you can still find 2023 harvest, including on Pandora Winery's website).

The wine is an intense salmon color, with a pronounced aroma of red fruits. Once we poured the wine into the glass, we felt aromas of strawberries, raspberries and also a little citrus. We tasted the wine and noticed that the aromas of red fruits (strawberries & raspberries) stood out as an explosion of aromas, to these being added aromas of citrus - lemon. The wine is dry, has 12% alcohol and high acidity.

Regarding the way the wine was made, the grapes were hand-picked, the wine had maceration of the whole berries for 10 hours, followed by maturation on fine lees for 5 months. The result is a fresh, fruity wine that can be enjoyed on its own or with salads, cheeses, light dishes, as well as slightly fattier dishes such as deviled eggs or salmon.

If you haven't discovered the wines of Pandora Winery yet, we invite you to do so because they have wines specific to the region in which they are located, namely Dealurile Moldovei, DOC Cotești (DOC = Domeniu de Origine Controlată), wines with personality, wines that follow the expressiveness of the variety.
