On May 14, 2025 took place the 13th edition of the Rose Wine Competition, organized by Winelover Romania Association.
The Rose Wine Competition is organized by the Winelover Romania Association in the month of May each year. The reason is simple: the results come just before the start of the summer season, the season in which rosé wines are most enjoyed.
I had the opportunity to get to know this competition more closely 3 years ago when I participated as a member of the jury in both the official competition and several wine preselections, during which the tasted wines received points and those with the highest points reached the finals of the Rose Wine Competition.
This year the competition took place in Paris Council Room of the Marmorosch Hotel in Bucharest and was attended by the gold medal-winning wines at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles organized in March in Constanta. The Rose Wine Competition was attended by those wines awarded Gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles that met the criteria for organizing the Rose Wine Competition and were announced: wines from the 2024 harvest, dry wines with a shelf price threshold between 20 and 70 RON. The competition had two sections: wines from non-aromatic varieties and wines from aromatic varieties.

- 1st Place: Caii de la Letea Volumul II /- Via Viticola Sarica Niculitel
- 2nd – 3rd Place (equal points): Anca Maria Rose - Familia Vladoi and Nativus Rose - Domeniile Averesti
In the aromatic rose wine section, only one wine was entered, which obtained the highest score of all the rose wines in the competition (90.17 points): Scrisori from Hermeziu Winery.
This year's jury was formed by: Arina Antoce, Catalin Paduraru, Radu Rizescu, Diana Pavelescu, Sergiu Nedelea, Liviu Gheorghe, Iulian Grigorescu and Cezar Ioan.
