Results of Vinul.ro Excellence Awards (spring edition), BIO and Dulce & Aromat - 2024
This year Vinul.ro continues the series of wine contests with some novelties. As every spring, Vinul.ro organized at the end of April the "BIO" and Dulce & Aromat wine contest, as well as a spring edition of the Vinul.ro Excellence Awards (whites and rosés).
It is the first time that the Vinul.ro Excellence Awards have a spring edition, with the official competition taking place at the end of September, the results being announced on the first Sunday of October, on the occasion of the Romanian Gastronomy and Wine Day.
While talking with Cezar Ioan, the initiator of Vinul.ro and the contests mentioned here, I learned the motivation to organize a spring edition for Vinul.ro Excellence Awards: to be able to highlight the white and rosé wines from Romania, which have just been launched now, in spring. In most cases, the wineries entered red wines in the competition in September, the white and fresh rosé wines being almost out of stock.
Thus, on April 22nd 2024, 3 commissions of jurors met, each commission being made of members with activity and experience in the world of wine: representatives of the academic environment, graduates of internationally recognized courses (Level 2, 3 and Diploma) Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), profile traders and communicators.

70 wines were entered in the competition from which 20 wines received Gold Medals and 3 Great Gold Medals.
