A wine course - a gift idea for wine lovers

If you like wine, you're used to trying new wines, you go to wineries or wine bars for tastings, you make food pairings at home and you look carefully at the wine menu in a restaurant, maybe it would be a good idea to give yourself a little extra knowledge in the world of wine as a gift for Christmas.

And if you have a friend with the same passion and curiosity about wine as you, today I have a very suitable gift idea for you – a gift voucher for a wine course. Christmas is 10 days away, so here is an original and useful gift idea.

Transylvania Wine School (Trawis) organises introductory wine courses as well as Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 1, 2 & 3 certification courses. The courses take place in Bucharest and Cluj (and sometimes in other cities in Romania as well - you can follow their activity here in the app by following their account), and the most famous course is the introductory course in wine appreciation and tasting.

If you have a curiosity to learn some basic things about wine, I warmly recommend this course because you will learn:
  • Main types and styles of wines
  • The main grape varieties in the world
  • What are the factors that determine the main styles of light wines
  • Wine storage and serving
  • The principles of pairing wine with food
  • The main grape varieties and regions in Romania
  • Description of the wine

The course lasts one day and includes several wines in the tasting. I talked about this with Zoltan Kormos - WSET Certified Educator, the initiator of the Transylvania Wine School (Trawis) and I leave his words below.

The Introductory Wine Appreciation and Tasting Course is our most popular course as it is ideal for those who don't know much about wine but are keen to learn. We taste 13 wines, perhaps this also contributes to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the classes, but it certainly helps to effortlessly accumulate vast and rigorous knowledge.

Those who have already taken this course recommend it with confidence and often gift it as a voucher to family members, friends and colleagues. The vouchers have the great advantage that they are valid for two years and can be used in any of our courses. Due to their flexibility, they are very popular, approximately 30-40% of our students are the beneficiaries of these vouchers.

We also have
wine tasting vouchers and value vouchers, but these are less popular than the introductory courses.” says Zoltan.

This year offer wine knowledge as a gift! Choose a course you want to give as a gift then send an email to info@trawis.ro and request a personalized gift voucher with the name of the person you want to give it to. You can also find details about the available vouchers here.

I warmly and knowingly recommend Trawis courses as this year I was also one of their students for the WSET Level 3 course.
