Crama DeMatei, Winery of the Year at the London Wine Competition 2025

The London Wine Competition 2025 means a new international recognition for Crama DeMatei, this being one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
Crama DeMatei was named "Winery of the year Romania 2025" and the wine Patima Fetească Albă 2024 received the distinction "Wine of the Year Romania" at London Wine Competition 2025, a competition held this spring.
Within the London Wine Competition 2025, Vintruvian Estates group of which Crama DeMatei is part (along with Crama Olterra - Drăgășani, Crama Histria - Dobrogea and Caii de la Letea - Sarica Niculițel - Dobrogea) - obtained 10 medals out of the 19 medals awarded to Romania at this edition.

- Patima Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Crama DeMatei - Silver Medal 90 Points
- Caii de la Letea Trilogie in roz 2024 - Bronze Medal 89 Points
- Patima Fetească Regală, Crama DeMatei 2024 - Bronze Medal 88 Points
- Caii de la Letea Trilogie in alb 2024 - Bronze Medal 87 Points
- Luturi Fetească Regală, Crama Olterra - Bronze Medal 86 Points
- Patima Tămâioasă Românească 2024 - Bronze Medal 85 Points
- Migala Cuvee Roșu 2020, Crama DeMatei - Bronze Medal 85 Points
- Epiphanie Fetească Neagră 2019, Sarica Niculitel - Bronze Medal 85 Points
The success of this competition is all the more important as the Jury was made up of 10 Masters of Wine, 5 Masters Sommeliers and 10 expert buyers, representing an important part of the UK wine trade.
This year Crama DemMatei also won 3 gold medals at Mundus Vini, as well as impressive scores from the James Suckling team (89-94 points) and became the first Romanian winery selected for Great Wines World, James Suckling's traveling exhibition. This year's success follows last year when Crama DeMatei won the title of Best of Show at the Winelovers Wine Awards (with the wine Prince Matei 2017) and the Great Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for Patima Fetească Neagră 2020, the same wine being declared Best of Show at Mundus Vini and selected in the Top 50 Selections Mondiale Des Vin Canada.
