Results of the National Bag-in-Box Wine Competition 2026 (10th edition)

On February 12th, 2026, edition 10 of the National Bag-in-Box Wine Competition took place in Bucharest, a competition organized by Azoc Star and Smurfit Webstrock.
The jury was made up of 40 jurors (scientists, oenologists, WSET, authorized tasters, sommeliers, journalists and wine merchants) who were assigned to 5 committees, each committee being chaired by well-known names in the Romanian wine world: Prof.univ.dr. Arina Antoce, Liviu Grigorica, LIviu Gheorghe, Marian Timofti, Iulian Grigorescu.
The 5 committees evaluated the 229 wines entered in the competition (102 white, 68 rosé and 59 red), of which 82 received the title "Best Bag-in-Box Wine 2026", and 9 wines were awarded Gold medals, having the highest score.

- Casa de Vinuri Beciu, Strop de Grai Red Cuvee
- Cramele Recas, Schwaben Wein BIB Merlot
- Domeniile Bohotin, BIB 10L Rosé sec Busuioaca de Bohotin
- Crama Girboiu, Varancha Cuvee Blanc
- Crama Bratu Feteasca Regală
- Crama Bratu Cabernet Sauvignon rose
- Bucureasca BIB 2L ALB Fume demisec
- Budureasca, BIB 2L ROSU Red Cuvee demisec
"The President's Wine" was another stage of the competition in which the 5 chairmen of the committees, together with Cătălin Costiniuc, the President of the Competition, analyzed and decided on 3 wines (one white, one rosé and one red) that will bear the name "The President's Wine 2026".
These are:
- Viaviticola Sarica Niculitel, 1958 BIB 3L Sauvignon Blanc 2025
- Domeniile Bohotin Zurzur Rosé Busuioaca de Bohotin (demidulce)
- SCDVV Bujoru Cabernet Sauvignon 2025
The competition also included the "Most Popular Bag-in-Box Wine" section. This section was judged by a 35-member jury that tasted all 82 wines awarded the title "Best Bag-in-Box Wine 2026" and designated 3 wines that received the title "Most Popular Bag-in-Box Wine 2026".

The President of the National Wine Bag-in-Box Competition will select at least 15 wines and promote them worldwide by submitting them to the "BEST WINE IN BOX by VINALIES", organized in Cannes, France, from March 25 to 29, 2026. For Romanian wine producers, participation in such international competitions represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen their visibility globally.

The President of the National Wine Bag-in-Box Competition will select at least 15 wines and promote them worldwide by submitting them to the "BEST WINE IN BOX by VINALIES", organized in Cannes, France, from March 25 to 29, 2026. For Romanian wine producers, participation in such international competitions represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen their visibility globally.
