Jelna Winery

We are a young family of entrepreneurs from Bistrita-Năsăud county, Jelna village, fascinated by wine and wine culture. We do nothing but continue and protect a story, an area and a winemaking spirit that has lain dormant for centuries here in Jelna. The hills where we planted our vines according to several centuries old maps of this wine growing area, were cultivated with vines but the varieties are not specified. Even on the Josephine map made by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1766, the first map of Transylvania, extensive grapevine plantations appear on the hills of Jelna.

We cherish 26 hectares of vines, the average age being 15 years, and the varieties we have are: Sauvignon Blanc, Feteasca Albă, Feteasca regală, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Noir.

Our Romanian/Transylvanian values ​​taught us to protect this area, which has so much to say and give, that's why we pushed our limits and built a new winery to the highest standards, a hotel with spa center and gourmet restaurant. All in close partnership with our community. Our doors and hearts are open and waiting for you.

Crama Jelna produces wines in the Navicella by Jelna, Dealu' Negru by Jelna, Jelna Amprenta Transilvaniei ranges.
