Wines from South Africa (București)

Around the national day of South Africa (this is on April 27th, it’s also called Freedom Day) I invite you to taste some emblematic wines from this country. Known for many "new world wines” and especially for Chenin Blanc and Pinotage varieties, South Africa is one of the countries that offers the whole world outstanding wines, which is why we chose to celebrate by getting to know some wines produced here in the southern hemisphere.

Thus, on April 26th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m., come to Băcănia Veche Delicatese & Grădină (București) to try 5 wines from South Africa: 2 white and 3 red.

For "South African Wine Tasting" we studied several wines produced in South Africa and chose 5 of which 3  are made from two types of grapes specific to South Africa: Chenin Blanc and Pinotage:
🍷 Terre Brulee Le Blanc Swartland 2019 (Chenin Blanc)
🍷 Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc 2021
🍷 Terre Brulee Le Rouge Swartland 2018 – Vincent Careme (Syrah, Cinsault)
🍷 L’Avenir Provenance Pinotage 2018
🍷 Ken Forrester Renegade (Shiraz, Mourvedre, Grenache) 2017

All the wines are imported by TheWinederers in Romania and for those who will come to the tasting we also have a surprise that I will reveal on the spot at the event.

Details about the food menu will be given directly to those who sign up for the tasting with a few days before the event. The menu is prepared with fresh ingredients by Marius Tudosiei and his team from Băcănia Veche Delicatese & Grădină, our host for this event.

This time Baroque Books & Arts publishing house has joined our event. They are publishing books about wine in their "In Vino Veritas" collection for several years and at the tasting on April 26th, you will have the opportunity to learn a few things about one of their recently published books and one of the people present will go home with this book. Come to the event and maybe you will be the lucky one!
