Conacul Grigorescu awaits you for a Farm to Table lunch every weekend
Conacul Grigorescu is a small accommodation unit located in Rătești, Buzău county, on Buzăului Valley, near The Muddy Volcanoes.
Juranda and Thorsten Kirschner, a Romanian-German couple decided in 2011 to start a new chapter in their life: they bought the mansion from 1930, renovated it for 10 years, step by step, with the help of craftsmen, using materials of local construction and thus preserving as much of the original architecture as possible. The mansion itself is the cradle of the family, and the adjacent buildings are included in the tourist circuit.
The venue offers 5 rooms for accommodation, each with a separate entrance, with a total capacity of 10 adults and 10 children and an event space for up to 25 people.
In addition to the accommodation part, Conacul Grigorescu is known for its passion for gastronomy, which it passes on to all those who come for a visit. They have a shop with local products from their own brand, "Rafinețuri - Artisanal delicacies produced at Conacul Grigorescu", as well as with products from Slow Food Buzău community. At the same time, the guests staying at the Manor enjoy meals lovingly prepared by Juranda.

More recently, starting with this spring, Conacul Grigorescu opened a new service: during the week they implemented the Bed&Breakfast system with a rich breakfast that includes products from their own mini-farm and from the region. At the same time, they also added a Menu Bar, similar to the pre-set menu of the day, so that guests can satisfy their taste buds.
On weekends, Conacul Grigorescu operates on a half-board basis, with a minimum of 2 nights' accommodation and a 5-course Slow Food dinner.
Because they had many requests to serve lunch from guests who were not having accommodation, Conacul Grigorescu introduced the concept of "Farm to Table" lunch which is available every weekend.
On a 100% online reservation basis, guests can book their lunch with a pre-set menu prepared with ingredients from their own mini-farm and from other producers in the area. Two menu options are available: classic and vegetarian, the price is 159 Ron/person (199 Ron/person in the case of special menus such as those with truffles, for example). The minimum reservation is 6 people; reservations can be made at predetermined times (between 12:00 and 14:00) so that the hosts can ensure that there is enough space for all the guests who want to try the dishes. Conacul Grigorescu is located near Dealu Mare region which is why they also have a list of wines from the Dealu Mare wineries, the guests who come to the table being able to choose which wines are to their taste.
In 2024 Conacul Grigorescu emphasizes the Slow Food Buzău community, introducing gastronomic tours and experiences, collaborations with the aim of helping the visibility of Ținutului Buzăului (Buzău Land) to transform it into a culinary destination.
