Tasting of Fetească and Sarmale (Bucharest)
March ends with a special tasting that brings us thinking about the upcoming Easter holiday: on March 29th 2023 at 6:30 p.m. you are invited at Hanu Berarilor Casa Oprea Soare (Bucharest) to enjoy a tasting in which we combine 5 wines from Fetească Neagră variety with 5 types of "sarmale" ("sarma" or "cabbage rolls", only that in this case let's call them "different leaves rolls" as some of them are not made with cabbage), both Romanian and...international.
For this tasting, we chose 5 wines made 100% of Fetească Neagră from 5 different areas of Romania plus a white blend of Fetească Albă and Fetească Regală, a very fresh wine suitable to start our evening.
Cosmin Dragomir, author of the book "Curatorul de Zacuscă" (currently working on a book about "sarma"/"cabbage rolls"/"different leaves rolls") and Romanian culinary historian, is in charge of the 5 different types of sarma.
The wines chosen for tasting are:

- (Transilvania) Villa Vinea – Fetească Neagră
- (Banat) Petro Vaselo – Melgis Fetească Neagră
- (Oltenia) Catleya – Perfect Simplu Fetească Neagră
- (Dobrogea) Domeniul Bogdan – Primordial Fetească Neagră
- (Muntenia) Aurelia Vișinescu – Signature Fetească Neagră
At this tasting, Cosmin Dragomir will tell the story of "sarmale" and he also proposes the following types of different leaves rolls that will be tasted during the event:
- Vegetarian sarmale
- Classic cabbage rolls with beef and pork, accompanied by smoked meat
- Estonian rolls(beef, veal, pork and cranberries)
- Greek rolls in vine leaf with lamb
- Argentinian rolls with beef
