We ride to where the wine is made by hand, with patience, and with a story worth telling.

This edition of BikeToTable takes us to Crama Lipiot — a micro-winery in Lipia, a small village on the Dealu Mare hills of Buzău, where Bogdan inherited an old vineyard from his great-grandparents and decided not to let it disappear. He replanted, studied, built the winery with his own hands, completed a master's in oenology and earned his WSET certification. He named his wine Lipiot — from the old Romanian for "a person of this place."

The day looks like this:
🚴 10:00 am — we meet and set off (~30 km, easy–moderate, gravel paths through vineyards, near Sarata Monteoru)
🍷 At the end — we arrive at the winery courtyard, under the pergola
🧀 Bogdan opens the bottles and sets the table with the best this land has to offer: fresh village cheese, Pleșcoi sausages and cured meats, sun-ripened tomatoes straight from the neighbour's garden, Buzău pretzels, water, and wine.

The wines:
🍾 Lipiot White — Tămâioasă Românească, aromatic and expressive: elderflower, peach, fresh basil. Award-winning and impossible to ignore.
🍷 Merlot Light — a summer red, fresh cherries, served cold. Effortless.
🍷 Merlot Classic — traditional fermentation, structured, with ageing potential. A wine that rewards patience.
