Cork Dork/On the Wings of Wine - Book of the month August 2023
The volume "On the wings of wine" (original title: “Cork Dork”) appeared in Romanian language at the Baroque Books & Arts publishing house in "In Vino Veritas" collection.
It is a New York Times Bestseller and it’s written by Bianca Bosker, a journalist known especially for the gastronomy articles she writes. Bianca resigned as a journalist and took 1 year to study as much as she could in the world of wine. At first it was a journalistic curiosity that then turned into a passion and ended with one of the hardest exams in the world of wine.
She told her story in the book "On the wings of wine/Cork Dork", which we recommend as the book of August, especially for the fact that it is a tasty reading that can be read on a vacation with the sound of the waves or the wind blowing around, or at home on a lazy afternoon.

Reasons to read the book:
"This book traces the year I spent among taste-obsessed, sensory scholars, famous-bottle hunters, scent masters, drunk hedonists, rule-breaking winemakers and the world's most ambitious sommeliers. It is not a wine buyer's guide or a celebration of all the traditions of wine drinking. […] This is not a grape-to-the-glass adventure, but rather a glass-to-neck adventure – into the crazy world of wine obsession and appreciation in all its forms and with all its shortcomings. It's an investigation into our association with a 7,000-year-old liquid that has charmed Egyptian monarchs, very poor peasants, Russian czars, Wall Street moguls, suburban parents and Chinese students." Bianca Bosker
