Dear friends,
We know you want to experience new bike routes and because we are always looking for new artisan wineries which produce spectacular wine, it is now time to discover a hidden gem at Domeniul Aristitei in Valea Calugareasca.
We meet on SUNDAY - SEP 10th, at 09.45 am at CASA TIMIS from Chitorani (1h15 min from Bucharest) and we finish our day around 16.00.
A route of medium difficulty with a length of ~ 22 km on the hills in the beautiful Dealu Mare area awaits us, over the hills, among vineyards and traditional houses.
Domeniul Aristitei is located in Valea Călugărească and has 4 ha cultivated with vines and a new boutique winery, equipped with ultramodern winemaking equipment that has a production capacity of 100,000 lt.
The Nicovani Valley has an old tradition in the cultivation of vines and the production of wine. At the beginning of the 20th century, a number of important people at that time had mansions with vineyards here. Among them is Ion Bujoiu, a politician, former Minister of Economy in the interwar period. This domain belonged to the Bujoiu family until 1947, and after 1989 it was returned to the family's heirs, from which in 2013 it was bought by the Ionita family. They intend to continue the art of wine in Valea Călugărească.
What we include in this experience:
- an excellent bike route on "Wine Road" (~20 km)
- guidance and car assistance where possible
- visit of the Museum „Crama de lemn 1777"
- short stop at the old Matac Manor
- visit to a new premium winery, Domeniul Aristitei, associated with an intensive tasting and cold cuts
- exercise, good wine and joie de vivre
- photos from the event
The participation fee is 299 RON.
Children benefit from a reduced rate and participants from our Bike & Wine community have a 10% discount.
Please contact us in advance if you want to book a bike from us or if you request the transport of your personal bike and are highly recommended because of the hilly terrain. You can opt to rent e-bikes for an additional fee. The route can be covered only with XC/MTB type of bikes.

If the group is smaller than 6 people, an additional fee of 75 RON/person is charged.
In case of bad weather, we will reschedule the event!
