About

Valahorum is a project that aims to offer the knowledgeable public Romanian landmarks.

"Romanian wine deserves more. It deserves wineries where the wine is made not much, but close to perfection; it is worth meeting its audience in unique places, where passion and mastery can be discovered. And so we founded Valahorum, a project through which we aim to offer Romania's landmark wines, by uniting the varieties, wine-growing areas and people that have the most to offer to a field with huge potential for Romania. "
Virgil Mandru, founder of Valahorum

Wineries that takes part in the project:
  • APOGEUM winery: located in the heart of Dealu Mare is the place where one of the most prestigious wines in Romania is born. Feteasca Neagra APOGEUM has won multiple gold medals on four continents, ranking in the top 1% of wines worldwide, according to Vivino.
  • Mierla Alba is an artisanal winery, located less than a kilometer west of Apogeum Winery. Here a blend of Feteasca Neagra and Merlot is produced, named just like that, Mierla Alba.
  • TOHANI Romania is one of the most well-known and recognized local wine producers. With a blessed location in the Dealu Mare region, TOHANI Romania is "home to Feteasca Neagra" and an important contributor to the Valahorum Project, with prized wines and original labels such as Prince Radu, Siel, Arum or Maestro. Here is preserved the only wine collection in the area, which houses over 100,000 bottles of vintage wines.
  • Located in the south of the Dragasani wine area, Crama Mennini adds to the Valahorum Project an emblematic Negru de Dragasani, signed by an Italian with a Romanian soul: Paolo Mennini.
  • Located in the immediate vicinity of Turda Salt Mine, on the Durgau Hills, an area with a centuries-old tradition in viticulture, dating from the Roman Empire, La Salina Winery is located in an area with a strong vocation for white wines. The specific terroir of the Aries Valley comes with the imprint of its identity, transforming the offer of La Salina Winery into a unique, revealing experience. La Salina Winery joined the Valahorum Project in July 2021.
